GEDIA tapped into the lightweight construction potential in cold forming at an early stage. - By using high-strength steels, it was possible to consistently reduce component weights.
Hot forming, which was also used, brought a further increase in strength. This type of forming ensures that a considerable weight reduction of vehicle components is possible while at the same time maximizing the component strength. In this field, GEDIA has developed an innovative process which enables the partial tempering of car body components: the TemperBox® technology.
By an increasing focus on component production with aluminum, additional possibilities in lightweight construction arise.
GEDIA also offers the development and production of battery housings and provides potential in e-mobility.
And for this, the goals are constantly in sight: high impermeability, weight reduction and passenger protection through crash safety.
 

GEOS - GEDIA Operating System

The success of a company is based on both effective processes and innovative, high-quality products. To meet these requirements, we strive for the principle of a lean company. In 2021, GEDIA expanded this company-wide, standardized production system. GEOS captures all operational processes that form the foundation of this system. In addition to Just-in-time, standardization and “Think Quality”, employee- and goal-oriented leadership, visual management as well as the continuous improvement process and the avoidance of waste play decisive roles.
The process optimization thus achieved improves return on investment and quality, but also brings about a central change process in internal cooperation. Therefore, company-wide, so-called best practices are identified, simplified and defined. Our employees receive specific trainings and a computer-supported process landscape ensures absolute transparency.
Our goals: A uniform, high process quality throughout the group and digitalization of our actions.
