The B-pillar is the crash-relevant connection between the vehicle floor and the vehicle roof in the middle of the cabin. It stabilizes the cabin against vertical deformation and absorbs the forces in the event of a side impact to protect the vehicle occupants. In order to ensure the highest level of safety, all GEDIA pillar reinforcements are manufactured out of increased-strength and high-strength steels.
