Home office is an enrichment for working life

This was discovered by Bachelor and Master students of the CBS International Business School at the Mainz Campus within the scope of a business project. Under the expert guidance of a professor, they worked on a practical task from various companies. In cooperation with GEDIA, the students dealt with the highly up-to-date topic of home office.

First, a subgroup of the project team visited us. They got a personal impression of GEDIA and the current work situation in selected areas locally. Afterwards they also visited the production in order to get to know the GEDIA processes in their entirety. Furthermore, first detailed discussions were held with individual managers and also the next steps for the further course of the project were coordinated.

The students then created an online-based employee survey and conducted it at GEDIA. Additional interviews with managers were used for the analysis. This business project created a solid basis for the further development of the home office at GEDIA. The results were consistently positive and show us that home office is mainly an enrichment for working life.

In the first half of this year, we will enter the second round of the project with a master's program at CBS Mainz. The goal will be not only to implement the home office work model even more strongly at GEDIA and to create overarching rules, but also to develop special solutions in some areas. Likewise, we will focus more on leadership topics at GEDIA, as well as on maintaining working relationships (e.g. against loneliness).
