Control arm

A control arm is part of the wheel suspension in vehicles. It is a mechanical linkage rod which swings vertically transverse to the driving direction, connecting the wheel carrier to the vehicle body via a hinge which is attached at both ends. The GEDIA control arm comprises a top and bottom shell, a reinforcement, a steel bush and a cold-pressed hexagonal adapter. These five components are joined using a MAG welding process with a 1650 mm welding seam. The completed welded assembly is then coated with cathodic dip paint before the corresponding rubber/steel bushes and a ball joint are pressed in mechanically.
