Construction progress at the new GEDIA US plant in Dalton

The first foundations are poured, the first steel beams are growing upwards.
Things are happening in the Carbondale Business Park. The second GEDIA location in the USA is being constructed in the industrial area located slightly south of Dalton, GA.
While the existing plant in Michigan concentrates on cold forming, the new, much larger plant in Georgia (Michigan approx. 5.500 m² / Georgia almost 17.000 m²) will in future produce hot formed components and welded assemblies for our customers.

The still very tense COVID-19 situation, both in Europe and in the USA, presents the team with new challenges every day, which are mastered via GoToMeetings, phone calls and e-mails. This is where the many years of experience of colleagues pays off in driving the project forward on a daily basis, even in this difficult situation. It is also not always an easy undertaking due to the time difference.
Besides the planning of the buildings and facilities, there is also a high support effort towards our customers.
GEDIA Georgia will become one of the most important suppliers for the electric vehicles for Daimler in Tuscaloosa starting in 2022. The importance of this project for the customer is also reflected in the very close and labor-intensive cooperation between the international teams on both sides.

'GEDIA Georgia' is an exciting project for everyone involved, and there will certainly be more news to report soon.
