GEDIA opens new plant in the anniversary year

On 18th June 2010 the new plant of the GEDIA Automotive Group in Nowa Sol was officially opened. The official grand opening was done by the executive Mr. A. Marcinek and the representative of the GEDIA stockholders Mr. J. Hillesheim with the attendance of employees, political and administrational representatives, business partners, the executive board and stockholders of the GEDIA Group.

A special highlight was the dance performance of the dancing chorus SPOKO. They are world vice-champion in the category „Hip-Hop Dance“ of the  International Dance Organization.

 

Detailed plant tours and presentation of the vehicles provided by this plant made the opening programme perfect.  

 

In his speech Mr. A. Marcinek thanked all involved parties, who have helped to realize the biggest plant project within the 100 years of GEDIA history in record time.

Competition “Excellence in Production"

GEDIA reaches final for “Tool manufacture of the year 2009"

On the 1^st of December 2009 the winners of the competition “Excellence in Production" were honoured. This also included the “Tool manufacture of the year 2009". The GEDIA tool manufacture was among the finalists in the category “Internal tool manufacture with less than 100 employees”. The finalists were selected by a thorough comparison of more than 310 tool and mould making companies.

 

Peculiar to this year’s competition was the fact that only three instead of four categories were analysed. This meant the number of competitors for the internal comparison was twice as high. Regarding these conditions the second place of the GEDIA tool manufacture offers evidence that the change management of recent years under the survey of the WZL Aachen has been successful.

 

The competition “Excellence in Production" was held for the sixth time. At www.excellence-in-production.de toolmaking companies can already sign up for the next competition. GEDIA will not miss the chance to compete with the best. Our aim is to become the best tool manufacture of the year 2010 – as we were in 2007.

GEDIA forges global alliance

In October 2009 a forward-looking decision was taken in Puebla, Mexico: GEDIA, Industrias Norm and Iroquois Industries Inc. unified to the global alliance GeNI. The cooperation enhances the knowledge transfer, accelerates the product development and intensifies the on-site customer care.

 

Collective competence

 

Each of the three companies operates in the automobile industry and scores with a wide experience in the same market segments. GeNI bundles this competences and at the same time capitalizes on existing structures. Due to the closing of ranks, customers in Europe, North and Central America can benefit from new synergies. An international presence that is distinguished by a team of 3,000 employers and 14 manufacturing plants. Furthermore local contact persons on two continents guarantee more efficient service.

Apart from the already existing partnerships GEDIA is now also independently based in China through the establishment of GEDIA AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS NANJING Co. LTD. As a starting point for further steps a sales and engineering company is founded in Nanjing, approx. 230 km to the west of Shanghai. First members of the staff have already been employed.

Nanjing is developing into “Automotive Valley” in the region. Many renowned automotive manufacturers and suppliers are settling in this metropolis. The team in Nanjing supports our activities in this region under supervision of an experienced GEDIA staff member.
