Milestones in our company history

1910
Gebrüder Dingerkus is established in Attendorn by Anselm and Ferdinand Dingerkus. In the beginning the production was focused on jewellery.

1925
Expansion of production program with hollow sheet handles for enamelware dishes.

1951
Entry into the production field of plastic handles. In the subsequent years up to 10 millions of handles were supplied each year.

1955
Production start of pressed, stamped and drawn parts especially for the automotive industry.

1994
Initial operation of the first spot welding robot for large components. Currently GEDIA has group-wide welding systems with approx. 200 robots in use.

1995
The first transfer press in the newly built press plant in Attendorn is assembled. Currently GEDIA has group-wide transfer presses with a pressure capacity of up to 2000 tonnes in use.

1998
Production plants in Poland (Nowa Sól) and Spain (Sta. Margarida) as well as an assembly plant and logistic centre at  Askay in Attendorn are built up.

2001
In order to upgrade the engineering capacities a  technology centre in Attendorn is established. The new tooling division is expanded.

2003
The handle division is sold and the focus is sharpened on the production of complex body modules with automated production systems.

2007
Production plant for tube bending and the subsequent welding of these tubes to crash components is built in Hungary (Tata).

2008
Another assembly plant for just in time production of larger body modules is built in Poland (Nowa Sól). A new engineering centre is established in China (Nanjing).
